Identifying your speaker cables: How do you find out which cable leads to which speaker if the cables weren't labelled properly

So the cables for your home theatre system are laid in the false ceiling and the silly electrician forgot to label the cables... what can do you?

A simple tip to test your speaker connections if one is not sure where the cables go:

Take a AA battery and press the black and red cables to each end.. Listen for the pop sound from the speaker and you will know where the connections lead to..

And if you are not sure whether the polarity is correct, the plus and minus leads on the battery correspond correctly when the speaker cone pops out towards you.

I have no financial interest or other interests in any of the items / events I write about.
