A plane ride of movies: the recommended , the rent first and the avoids..

What makes a movie stand out? Make millions and entice viewers to come back for a second show, to talk about it for days after?

Surely it's not merely CGI. Neither is it big names, or large production value action sequences.

If you look at the best shows, there's always a good plot, then the excellent chemistry between the actors and that mix of action, romance and comedy that gives a little bit of something for everyone.

So which of the latest shows had that?

Charlie's angels 2019 movie review

Well this one definitely has some big names and some serious action sequences. But the actors didn't gel and the fight scenes were just awful. If you think Affleck was a walrus when he was trying to challenge Superman, this is worse. The girls look good, strike a great pose but they just can't do action. Painful to watch

Lars and the Real Girl

An oldie but its a sweet romantic movie which shows you don't always need action and the acting is subtle but warm and heart felt. Recommended

Peanut Butter Falcon

Another heart warming story that hits the spot in your heart with many chuckles and some fun filled action too.
Recommend

Shaun the sheep Farmaggedon

A delightful funny installment in this franchise that's worth buying. It has space, action, fun and humor.

Ready or Not

Now this is in the vein of Get Out and it's not really original yet it brings a newness to the genre of hunt or be hunted with a newly wed bride getting more than she expected as she has to play hide and seek for her life. Recommended

Anna

Luc bucson first made Nikita more than 20 years ago and since then the pretty girl turned spy assassin has been redone quite a few times. He returns to do another now with flashy action sequences and hot ladies but there's no soul and whilst it's great as an action demo disc will suggest a rental first.

Midway

Here's another big summer blockbuster that invested a lot into the production with a big ensemble cast and serious CGI but it doesn't hang well together. The original midway made decades ago had real planes and there was real tension the acting is a lot tighter.

Escape plan extraction

Sometimes one needs to know when to stop. The first installment was actually interesting. The second was awful and Stallone should have learnt but he persisted and it only became worse. Sloppy scripts, poor acting and the Chinese interest injected for obvious reasons.
Avoid it

Jojo Rabbit

This is a fantasy dark comedy with a thought provoking concept that is quite original and gives you plenty to think about after the movie.
Worth a rental at least

Dynaudio is a company that has been in the speaker business for more than forty years and prides itself on making most of its components in house, especially the drivers and most of the cabinetry. Through the years they have developed many beloved components for their top end products and have also distilled them down to the masses whenever they launch a special edition. So they have adopted a similar format and take some of their finest drivers, an Esotar 3 tweeter and a woofer derived from the Evidence range and placed them into a more traditional walnut veneer speaker for us to sample.  Thus the Heritage Special (HS) was born. The catch ? Well there are two.. firstly it’s by no means cheap, even though it uses choice components. Second there are only 2500 pairs so if you’re waiting to get one, don’t !
