Perth tips - child friendly places for food, attractions and shopping

Image
Had a bit of time, so I'm putting together the places I went and tried  Introduction Perth in general Perth City is quite small, but Western Australia is huge, so be specific on where you want to go and what you want. Traveling distances out of Perth City are massive so account for the traveling time. Eg a day trip to Margaret River is ill-advised. Weather, if you're going soon, it's warm in the day, but gets cool at night. Bear in mind, Australia is like that in general, once the sun goes out, the temperature can drop by more than 10 degrees. Food Be prepared to spend 18-30 Aus$ a meal. Or pack sandwiches and such to save. Or stay home. You can't really scrimp too much and enjoy. The good news is that the currency is smaller than ours, so there's a discount. And don't try to smuggle food or any organic material, they are really strict. Declare and pack in clear bags. Usually dried stuff with English labels eg baby food and medicine are fine. Eat local stuff lik

Next Goal Wins Movie Review

So it's based on a true story, and it has a rather formulaic plot which goes by the numbers, but who cares?  Underdog stories, sports stories and the odd ball ones based on a true event always gets to me, and this one is no exception. The director is an award winning one, the main star is also a big one, and he is supported by far lesser known ones who do not feel out of place and bring to life the story of how American Samoa picked themselves up from the worse defeat in football history and helped not only themselves, but also the coach brought in to help them get over this losing streak. It's funny, cheerful and yes, predictable in some ways, but it is also inspirational and gives you that lift and that was what it did for me. You do not need to a football fan to get this, yeah it's football, not soccer mates..  If you need a pick me up, this one will really do it for you, and whilst it may not win any Oscars, it has a heart warming story that will make your day. Getting the Aircon Blower Power Right

Simple rules of thumb and not every will agree - over power or get it right instead of underpower - from the numerous posts I see many underpowered setups so if you think you overpower you might just be right 😆 - two blowers instead of one eg one 12 and one 18 instead of a single 24 - for better distribution but check your room shape - more compressors - don’t just buy on price That applies to brands and contractors Squeeze them too hard and quality drops Think hard on blower position - gradient of drain, noise and route. Make aesthetics secondary Likewise for the compressor- sometimes you don’t get a choice but if you have it outside your master bedroom it may get noisy as the compressor gets older Think about servicing too be it blower or compressor- make sure you can open the cover adequately Clean the filters and service it to make it last Some sites that offer calculations: https://www.omnicalculator.com/construction/air-conditioner-room-size https://silverbackaircon.sg/aircon-bt

Costs of Maintaining a Landed Property

Image
So, you're eyeing that nice piece of land, maybe considering a rebuild, or just doing some touch up work on a terrace house? Apart from the eye water cost of buying a place, do note that there are additional costs in the upkeep of a landed home. Now we are not talking about cluster homes, or even those homes within a condo development, where maintenance is a running cost that you pay funds towards each month, no, we are talking about homes you own outright, be it 99 year or freehold properties. So whilst these do not have monthly maintenance bills, you should put money aside for repairs and also upkeep, and these will come as part of wear and tear. So here's a small list of the potential costs you may face and then you can decide if the hassle and costs are worth it. Remember, it is not only the money, but the trouble of finding people or tradesmen to come and sort out the issues.  Swimming Pool - 70-80 per visit Now this is a nice feature to add to your home, but bear in mind

Why My Next Car Is Unlikely To Be An Electric Vehicle

Image
A recent meet up with some friends and auto buddies led me to think if I should jump onto the latest trend, and the biggest thing in the automobile industry now is the tide of change, from internal combustion engines (ICE)s to electric vehicles or EVs. With the COE of my car running out in just a little more than three years, I am keen watching this page. But if I go by current trends, costs and also a deeper dive, I am likely to stay with the traditional gas guzzler. For context, I have to mention my current car usage. My trip to work is rather short, with minimal traffic jams. I do commute between two to three worksites, which is made much easier by hopping into the car and then driving between these destinations. They are also not too far apart, but if I factor in time for taxis or private hire vehicles (PHV)s, I will spend a significant amount of time waiting. There are no direct buses between the sites. I also take longer journeys on the weekend to fetch my little one to enrichmen
