Tecno Cooker hood, hub and oven review

Tecno - I've been using their hoods and hubs since 2018, both chimney and the slim line, plus their oven. Got them at a warehouse sale for a good price. My logic for getting them?

It's a local brand, so parts should be easy to find and the price was really good. Under 2.5k for two hoods, a hub, an oven, an induction cooker plus some freebies including a microwave.

Here's a link to the items:

This is a real sucker:

IMO, either go for a Jap made Fujioh, or go basic.. because after many cooking sessions, they will all look around the same.

The key parts are the metal part holding your pot, and can it take the weight and is it the right shape.

Second, is the flame hot enough and how is the delivery of the flame, eg how many rings there are for your style of cooking. They are familiar with wok cooking and works fine.

Note that Tecno uses a battery to light the flame, others like Bosch use a power source.

Their oven is a basic one, simple and like a Toyota perhaps, simple means less things to spoil. Less frills.

Their hoods are well designed, albeit a bit noisy. But the suction is fantastic, and regardless of how smoky the cooking it, it will work well. Easy to maintain too, as there is an oil collection drain. To me, that is very important if you do real cooking.

The lamp is a bit weak, I wish it was brighter. I also hoped the slim hood was slimmer, but it's a small issue. Noise is significant, and you have to shout to hear your partner when it's on.

The induction cooker is fast, simple to use and easy to clean. It also has a fan, so it does get a tad noisy, but it works fine.

If you opt for the more branded names, you probably have to double your budget to get the same items, so I'm prepared to change them if they spoil, but so far so good.
