Preparing my Bz4x for my KL trip

So it's been a couple of months since I got my car and it's been fun. And now for the litmus test of long range driving - Singapore to Kuala Lumpur (KL).

The net distance is about 360km or so, plus a little more city driving to reach Sunway Lagoon.

In preparation for this, I have downloaded the following apps

- ABRP another better route planner
- Plugshare
- Jomcharge for Malaysian chargers
- SP power app which apparently works in M'sia on Jomcharge chargers

I have also bought
- a charging cable - some places in KL offer free charging but you need your own cable
- tire pump kit
- tire repair kit - comes with the Toyota
- torchlight
- steering wheel lock
- car cover - to make it looks less attractive to those who might be keen to break in

Now about the car

I have 460km from 100% full charge to zero, but I won't be going flat and whilst there seems to be some spare, when you go fast, the range drops about 20%, so I figure I'll fit in some pit stops, to eat, to charge and to pee.

So a brand new adventure, to familiar destinations but it was not easy getting to this stage..

My family has been to ED so many times in the past month, it's been daunting and this trip has been on and off for a while due to the unforeseen circumstances..

But looks like my mum is well enough and I can go ahead

It's a new start, and once this trip takes off, I will then plan further trips to even further afield, and now with fuel prices as they are, M'sian holidays are looking more interesting..

So, I got my new VEP, and a few new apps

- plugshare

- ABRP

- Jomcharge

- SP

and I'll be using the inbuilt GPS or maybe supplemented with Waze - heard it's better for M'sia

I have also bought

- a charging cable - some places in KL offer free charging but you need your own cable

- tire pump kit

- tire repair kit - comes with the Toyota

- torchlight

- steering wheel lock

- car cover - to make it looks less attractive to those who might be keen to break in

So now my limitations

I have an real world operating range of 460km, but no one drives to empty, and whilst there seems to be some spare, when you go fast, the range drops about 20%, so I figure I'll fit in some pit stops, to eat, to charge and to pee.

My proposed stops:

Skudai Southbound RnR

https://www.skudairnr.com/

Lot 1A, 7A Jalan R&R Skudai, Kawasan R&R Skudai, 81400 Senai, Johor

(this is in case there's a long queue to cross the customs, otherwise I might shoot for further down) or just do a pee break

For lunch / brunch and a little top up

Pitstop @ Tangkak

This one is still listed as pending

On the reverse trip

I'll go to Ayer Keroh, but if I get there with plenty to spare, then I'll go down to the Pitstop @ Tangkak

It has eight chargers now

Then for food, I'll go to Yuan Yean

Then my back up point will be Skudai RnR Southbound again

Additional charging points you can use with SP:
