Sydney in a week with a little one... some old places, some new

It's been a nice time away, to meet friends, and experience old places, but with a lil un in tow and experience a bit of farm courtesy of my friends.

I'll share a few pics, and then links to the places in case anyone is headed to Sydney.

Farm - day trips and stay vacations.

Not the glamp camp type, but good fun with waterfalls, animals, feeding, and only an hour from Sydney. The M1 expressway up has some steep uphill climbs, great for testing if your car has the chops..

Best OJ!

Oz is very big on safety and child seats (sharks are a different thing)

Uber won't take you w/o a child seat. Taxis can. You can also book taxis for the airport, get a big one if you need luggage space.

Food selection:

Double Chin - like DTF, many branches

Harry's Pies, best bet at Wollomolloo

Diamond Territory $$ but very nice Canto food

Silk - World Square, all kinds of food

Ramen Zundo, also World Square, nice and decent prices. Very good

Expect 20-25$ per pax for a basic meal, more if you add drinks / alcohol. Most Chinese places give tea / water

Coffee is excellent in the Aus, almost anywhere, because it's very competitive..

Getting around: best to take uber / taxis because tolls and parking is ex.. or get an Opal card and take the trains. Note, kids above 3 need a card too. You can also pay with your CC.

Many pho places all around, and steaks are super almost anywhere.

Lebanese food - now this is very good here, eg El Jennah, many branches

Shopping at Drummyone, Birkenhead point, good prices and selection, about 15 min from CBD by cab.

The waterfront is always a nice place to spend some time, be it at the harbor, or any place next to the water. Property tends to be the most expensive there too.

The harbor ferry is a budget way to get a cruise, or book a longer one with the Captain Cook Cruise.

Luna Park is kid friendly - great for a few hours of fun

A week is a short time to play and there are many places further afield, including the typical Blue Mountains, Taronga Zoo, Hunter Valley, which most are familiar with.

Before you know it, it's time for home again :)

FYI, the A380 is stable, we had turbulence, but as a economy passenger, you will have much longer queues. However Silver Elite entitles you to queue with Gold and Premium Economy, which is a nice touch, kudos SIA!
